Talk about making motherhood, while running a thriving business, look easy! Meet Meg, CEO and Founder of the gorgeous jewelry line Margaret Elizabeth. Let me be the first to tell you that I am obsessed with this jewelry line, and the woman who started it all! She and her line are timeless, gorgeous, and feel incredibly natural. On top of running a thriving business with three local San Francisco storefronts, she’s the mother of two beautiful blue eyed little boys. I was fortunate enough to spend a morning with her sweet family back in June, and can’t wait to share a little peek into their beautiful little life together.
How stinkin’ cute are little Tate and baby Kal? If I were a kid again, Tate and I would definitely be buddies.
I just can’t say enough about how much I adore this sweet little family, and how much I respect this amazing mama for pursuing her passion to create a thriving business in busy San Francisco.
There’s nothing finer than to be in Carolina… blue skies, fresh air, and a little southern charm. And the south just got a little more charming when this beautiful baby boy joined the world! On January 23, 2017 sweet baby Yeatts (my husband’s namesake!!) arrived and proved that he might just be the most laid back little man that ever was. Just like his parents, this is one happy, chill, little dude. I couldn’t resist hopping on a red-eye to head back east for a quick 48 hours of baby love.
I mean, how precious is this little guy? And his parents…gorgeous (inside and out)! And wait, what about his nursery?! I’m obsessed. My incredibly talented sister-in-law, Blythe, put this gender neutral nursery together herself (with a little help from her hubby- more on that in a moment). It’s an amazing mix of items that work perfectly together, and bring a personal touch to such a personal space for baby. A stunning painting by local NC artist Laura Park hangs over the vintage inspired white crib she found for a bargain on amazon. The wooden dresser was passed down from Matt’s family and serves as a diaper changing station, while a tall wooden giraffe from Blythe’s childhood peeks out from the corner of the room. Saving on details like the intricate light feature from IKEA, soft sheer drapes and glass lamp from Target, allowed for a splurge on the oversized plush rocker- which in my opinion is always the most important part of a nursery since you spend so much time there as a mama! My favorite part of the whole room though, has to be the wall of mounted plush animals daddy Matt added (without Blythe’s consent- haha!). All of these individual touches in the room came together beautifully to create the perfect soft, serene, joyful space for baby Yeatts.
How lucky am I that I get to call this little guy my nephew?! And did you notice his big brother, Louie? Such a great protector in a big old lovable package. This kid’s got a best friend for life…not to mention three crazy cousins who already adore him on the west coast!
I realize I may be biased, but this family is just perfection. I love them so.
This beautiful baby boy surprised mom and dad a few days ahead of schedule, and since then, he and his big brother have been keeping them on their toes! Life with two boys is always exciting (I know the feeling)! These adorable parents were so relaxed and welcoming as I spent a morning in their home a few days after their littlest man was born. Big brother was given the space to run and play, and ultimately the space to be himself, while we captured their life as a new family of four.
After spending some time capturing baby brother solo, we negotiated some pictures with the big kid of the family. His honesty and enthusiasm kept me giggling the whole session.
We played, we laughed, and as most children do, eventually got bored with the camera… which allowed me to capture one of my favorite, and most honest, photos ever 😉
It was such a joy to spend time with this adorable family, and I can’t wait to see how much the boys have grown by our next mini session together before the holidays!
You have never met a sweeter, more faithful, more loving family than this. They are perfectly smitten with each other, especially their new addition… and big brother’s overwhelming joy for his new baby is evident in every photo I had the pleasure of taking!
We spent the morning relaxing at their adorable apartment, just taking in those sacred moments of having a newborn in the house again. I encouraged them to go about their normal routine, which led us out to the sidewalks of San Francisco for a walk and a scooter ride so big brother could burn off a little energy. Their calm and sense of comfort with each other is infectious, and it kept me steady as I walked backwards up and down the streets of San Francisco.
Needless to say, I am honored to have had the opportunity to spend the morning photographing this family…but more importantly, I’m honored to call them friends.
Just a few weeks ago, I had the honor of photographing this sweet newborn baby boy in the gorgeous Marina neighborhood of San Francisco. I could tell, from the moment I stepped into their apartment, that these two new parents were pretty smitten with their little man. I’m pretty sure they spend hours a day just staring at his sweet little face… and I don’t blame them, this little guy is just as handsome as his mom and dad! And check out their adorable nursery. I’m in love with the calm neutral tons, with just a splash of orange. It seems to fit their family’s personality perfectly!
When I meet new families like this one, I always wonder what I would have been like during a newborn session with my first. We didn’t have our own newborn photos taken (sadness!), but I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t have seemed as calm as these two. They were so comfortable in their own skin, worked together seamlessly to calm sweet baby boy, and we sneaking little jokes and giggles with each other during our whole time together. I’d love to think that I was as cool as these two cats with their new little addition 😉
Have I mentioned the view? Gorgeous. Simply Gorgeous. And so fitting for this adorable young family. They were sweet enough to let me get a few shots of them out on their balcony, which overlooks the San Francisco Bay, with views of the Palace of Fine Arts and a sneak peek of the Golden Gate Bridge. I left this session feeling so grateful for such amazing clients in such an amazing city.
Oh, how I love mini sessions. Sweet, short, and simple. I love them. Earlier this spring I hosted a series in the Presidio with some pretty amazing clients. As I gear up for another series of fall mini’s, I realized I never posted my Mother’s Day Mini Sessions (it’s been a busy summer!). So here we go, a few of my standout favorites, and a great sampling of what happens when you spend 30 minutes with me in a gorgeous location (even if it is freeeeeezing outside!).
I have been feeling so incredibly thankful recently. In the past two months I’ve had a number of incredible opportunities to spend time with some really talented women. Just last week I spent my Saturday morning with a group of women photographers at the Ferry Building for the 2015 Clickin’ Walk. We mingled amongst ourselves, we perused the market, we photographed everything that inspired us, we learned a few tricks behind the lens, but most importantly we bonded. Because that’s what “Clickin’ Moms” do… we support, we love, we encourage. And I couldn’t be more thankful to have had the opportunity to spend my morning with such a wonderful group of women.
I haven’t felt that inspired, challenged, or encouraged by a group of strangers in my life!
A few of my favorites…
Think chic. Think sophisticated. Think St. Regis.
Last week I had the honor of being featured as a suggested local vendor for the St. Regis’ new “Bespoke Baby Shower” package. (Yes, the St. REGIS!) The new package is a tailored event intended to engage smart, savvy mompreneurs in the Bay area. I found myself in a room surrounded by ridiculously intelligent women whose accomplishments and drive literally blew my mind. Business founders, PR gurus, book authors, and local bloggers whose stats are off the charts. Needless to say, between the amazing company, the four course lunch, and champagne at noon, I had an incredible time.
Bloomthat showcased their sophisticated and simply clean floral arrangements, while Kara’s Cupcakes cured everyone’s sweet tooth with their delicious cupcakes and caramel corn. The expectant mamas received the most incredible super luxe cashmere stroller blankets from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child… you seriously need to feel these blankets, it’s like being wrapped in a cloud! Tinyprints featured personalized, floral stationary so cute that now I feel the need to write them a thank you note for mine! And as always, the St. Regis was the epitome of luxury, from their custom “mocktails” for the expectant mamas: non-alcoholic margaritas cooled with blue ice cubes (we were honoring two baby boys!). Oh, the personal touches. So without further ado, check out the photos from the most incredible baby shower I’ve been to!
This little nugget has a smile that will melt hearts and her baby blues seem to go on for miles! I met the Wade family at their home to capture a few candid moments before setting off to Kohl Mansion just up the street for some outdoor frolicking. The weather was perfect, the clients were gorgeous and I just couldn’t ask for a better scenario! Mom and Dad were clearly in their element with their sweet little girl in tow, and as much as she tried not to smile for the camera she just couldn’t help herself between the bubbles, ice-cream, and love from her parents. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a family so happy to just be together, focusing on one another for a couple hours!
